“There is a peacefulness in executing River Art akin to fly fishing. Both require patience and skill, studying the fish in its habitat, reading the river and just being at peace with nature.”
Ray is very meticulous about capturing the details that give each fish its own distinct character. The bodies, fins and individual scales are carefully carved from special woods, then painted to match the iridescent colors found on fish still in water. The fish are mounted on sculpted habitat that suggests its natural environment. Each piece is gallery quality and ready for show.
